About us

Brandeis High School is located in San Antonio, Texas and is a part of the Northside
Independent School District. The Brandeis Orchestra program, consisting of four orchestras,
has had a history of excellence since its opening in 2008. The program has received numerous
UIL Concert & Sightreading Sweepstakes awards. Over the years the orchestra has produced a
record number of Texas Music Educators Association All-Region students and All-State
musicians. The Brandeis High School Fine Arts Program was a semifinalist for the Grammy
Signature School Award in 2011. In 2013 the Brandeis Orchestra was the first orchestra
program in San Antonio to be invited to perform at the Midwest Clinic in Chicago. In 2018 the
Brandeis Orchestra had it’s Carnegie Hall Debut and the group also won Grand Champion at
the Winter Park Music Festival. Also in 2018, The Brandeis Orchestra won Best Fine Arts
program in the entire district. In 2020 the orchestra was chosen as a finalist to compete in the
National Orchestra Festival hosted by ASTA in Orlando, Florida. Numerous Brandeis Orchestra
students have participated in festivals including Tanglewood, Interlochen Arts Camp, the
Eastern Music Festival, the National Youth Orchestra, the Heifetz Institute, and the Bowdoin
International Music Festival. In 2022 the Brandeis Orchestra won Grand Champions at the Orchestra Cup at Lincoln Center in New York City. In 2023 the Brandeis Orchestra was an invited ensemble at the Midwest International Convention in Chicago.
